At Market Fresh, community is our core. Whether that’s the community we find amongst our team, the vendors we source from every morning, the chefs and servers in Athens restaurants or beyond, we recognize we are all connected through food. To demonstrate our commitment to the Athens Area community, we are serving as a presenting sponsor of the Athens Farmers Market in 2020. We believe in the importance of local food, farmers, purveyors and artisans, and we support AFM’s mission to educate and advance local sustainable agriculture.
Market Fresh is also a contributor to the Athens Works Initiative, which through pledges helps to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our local economy. While adhering to local and state ordinances, AWI participants serve to help those businesses who cannot operate as they would normally. Providing them the necessary revenue streams that keep their lights on, doors open and our local workforce employed. Market Fresh is one of a number of local businesses who are working together to re-activate the local economy Athenians hold dear.
